“The idea first came up over a beer, when we were talking about what we would have built as kids if we had enough Lego. Your imagination is always bigger than your stockpile when you’re a kid. Up until now, the largest thing I’ve ever built with Lego was probably a plane or a battleship, because that was all I could build with the amount I had,” said James.
If you have a passion for cars you may have heard about James May. The guy is producer and co-presenter on one of Britain’s best TV Shows, Top Gear. Also known as Captain Slow, James is more than just a guy with a passion for engines. He also loves LEGO and to prove that he’s serious about it, after beer with the “mates” he decided to build — entirely from LEGO pieces — a real two-storey house, where he’ll live upon completion. Located in the middle of the Denbies Wine Estate, in Dorking, UK, the building is going to use 3 million colorful bricks, will feature a Lego toilet and LEGO furniture.

Trendy Furniture: Modular Tetris Shelves
The game of Tetris has inspired many designers throughout the years. These Modular Tetris shelves are another practical influence of the hugely successful puzzle game. From Brave Space design, the Tetrad Flat Shelving is a set of ten colored pieces in the popular shapes of the game.
The shelves are made of wood, although their backings are entirely metallic. The blocks can be simply spread individually around your apartment, hung on a wall, or connected together to form a bookcase. You can arrange them in any way you like and use them for storing CD’s, books, magazines or any other objects that you have lying around your house. The finish is said to be stain resistant and easy to maintain. We found out that the set has a rather steamy price. You can get this ten blocks set at $ 1500 or an upgraded version for $2000, a sum that is not too high considering the creativity of the design and the endless possibilities in which you can use the Tetris blocks.

East Meets West Zodiac Clock
Behind the ‘East-Meets-West’ wall clock by Kit Men stands a creative design idea: the blending of two cultures. From far away the two separate clocks seem to have some incomprehensible art forms on the margins, but as you see the product up-close, this changes and the zodiac characters are visible and clear.
This is exactly what the designer himself intended: “up close each zodiac symbol is clearly visible, the dual-time function is clearly apparent with the symbols of the Chinese zodiac on the left depicting time in the East while the symbols from the zodiac on the right presenting the time in the West. Moving further away the image begins to transform from zodiac symbols to classically intricate picture of decorative motifs”.The clock comes in two versions so you can choose the one that goes the best with your interior. The dimensions 35.5 x 81.3cm are medium, so establishing a place for this modern clock will not be an issue.
